Why CAEXPO |
|
A grand event backed by free trade and liberalized
investment: Thanks to the CAFTA tariff reduction
program, open trade in service and transparent investment
mechanism, flows of goods, services and capitals within the
CAFTA enjoy more freedom and conveniences. The CAEXPO,
closely following the construction pace of the CAFTA, forms
a platform of win-win cooperation between China and the
ASEAN.
Prominent market potentials and blooming business
opportunities: The bilateral trading volume between China
and ASEAN records an annual growth rate of 20%, with the
total trade volume of 2007 climbing to USD192.2 billion.
The CAFTA, upon its completion in 2010, will become a huge
market with 1.8 billion consumers and a total trading volume
of USD1.2 trillion as well as the 3rd largest free trade
area in the world only after the North America Free Trade
Area (NAFTA) and the EU.
A multi-field cooperation platform co-constructed by
China and ASEAN: Driven by the joint support pooled by
the governments of China and the 10 ASEAN countries, the
CAEXPO aims to build a superb platform for cooperation
between China and ASEAN in the fields of trade, investment,
tourism and science & technology.
The previous 4 successful CAEXPOs yielded richer economic
outcomes: The previous 4 CAEXPOs totally attracted
7,413 exhibiting enterprises and 116,000 exhibitors and
trade visitors from 65 countries/regions around the globe,
concluded a total trading volume of USD4.92 billion and
contracted international cooperation projects worth USD22.26
billion. |

promotes technical transfer and cooperation. |

Pavilion of Cities of Charm
|
China and the 10 ASEAN countries will choose
respectively one (1) major ICT city as their City of
Charm of the 5th CAEXPO, to comprehensively showcase
the city images, and particularly, the planning and
development of ICT sector, ICT equipment
manufacturing, investment inviting for industrial
parks for electronics manufacturers, software
developing and information technology, etc. The 3rd
China-ASEAN Information and Communication Technology
(ICT) Week will be held concurrently. |
